Sold Item Notice

No maker's or retailer's name to the ricasso. Possibly for a Scottish officer as the scabbard is for a Scotsman (ball chape), presuming the scabbard is original to the sword, which it appears to be.

The 32 1/8 inch blade is in fairly good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt with age / tarnish / wear / some slight rust. Grip in good but faded and worn condition, a couple of small patches. Twisted grip wire mostly good but some lesser strands missing. Plated steel scabbard has lost most plating and has a steady light rusting (now treated) pretty much throughout. The sword sheathes and draws well enough if a little loosely.

An honest example at a low price. A snip at just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W42 (1185). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
