Sold Item Notice

No maker's or retailer's details to the ricasso, so this superb quality sword was made by a top maker for a retailer (outfitter etc.) who did not want to pay to have their name added, or where the officer did not want it added (perhaps to "hide" it was not a certain maker / retailer). The blade is dress weight but not the lightest / narrowest though hey, what do rifle officers fight with anyway!

The quality etched blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt has lost some of its original chemical browning and acquired a very little light rust pitting, but is overall very good. The black fishskin grip is very good save for a tiny scrape one side; the twisted grip wire bindings are very good. Like the hilt, the steel scabbard has lost some browning and acquired minimal light pitting here and there. The sword sheathes and draws well.

A stunning well above average sword and yours for only £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W33 (1157). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
