George VI / WW2 British Royal Artillery Officer's
Sword, for sale
In very good overall condition, a George VI / WW2 British Royal
Artillery Officer's Sword.
No maker's or retailer's name, so either bought from a small outfitter
or in the midst of World War Two. The supreme grey etching and style
thereof indicates this was Sheffield made.
The 32 1/4 inch blade with George VI royal cypher, Royal Artillery
winged thunderbolts and "Ubique" over a field canon is
in very good condition with minimal age. Blade firm in the hilt.
The hilt / guard with a grey tarnish (could be restored to original
bright finish with Simichrome polish or similar) is in good condition.
The black fishskin grip in very good condition, as are the associated
twisted grip wire bindings, The leather field service scabbard is
good but with signs of age / service. The sword sheathes and draws
