George V British 1912P Cavalry Officer's
Sword, for sale
In overall very good condition, a George V (WW1 / 1930's era)
British 1912P Cavalry Officer's Sword.
No maker or retailer's details to the ricasso, so most likely sold
through an army outfitters during WW1.
The superb grey etched 35" blade is in very good condition,
just a few patina patches, not many. Blade firm in the hilt. The
hilt has suffered a little from time, some plating gone, but generally
good. The grip is good except for the forward section which has
lost some fishskin and had mastic applied; believed period. The
field service scabbard is generally good but with wear. The sword
sheathes and draws well.
Great looking above average example. £675. Please quote item
reference number W20. Further / full sized pictures available upon
request. Box 1141-120x19x16 (2.349).
