WW1 era GRI Royal India Marine Naval Officer's
Sword, sold |
In very good condition, a rare WW1 era British / Welsh Cardiff
GRI Royal India Marine Naval Officer's Sword.

The Royal India Marina was a very small navy, so these swords are
scarce at best. This one is made rare due to the Cardiff Retailer
being etched to the ricasso and the exceptional RIM etching.

The 31 1/2 inch blade is in excellent condition and firm in the
hilt. The hilt very good. The fishskin grip very good as are the
twisted grip wire bindings (one lesser strand slightly astray).
Folding guard section works and locates well. The scabbard is good.
The sword sheathes and draws well.
A+ example and just £? (too late, now sold). Please quote
item reference number V87 (1094). Further / full sized pictures
available upon request.
