1854 Pattern Victorian British Infantry Senior Officer's Sword, sold

In good condition, a "Gothic Hilted" 1854 Pattern Victorian British Infantry Senior Officer's Sword.

The brass scabbard shows this to be a senior infantry officer's sword. The etching is so worn, so feint, no detail can be determined.

The 32 1/4 inch blade is in very good condition but the etching is very feint. Blade firm in hilt. The brass gothic hilt / guard is in good shape. Fishskin grip good but with some discolouration. The twisted grip wire bindings mostly good but some lesser strands going astray. Original sword know aged and partly incomplete, but sound. The brass scabbard with several dings and dents but sound / good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
