1852M pre-1880 Dutch Infantry Officer's Sword,
Sold |
In good condition, a 1852 model (pre-1880 Dutch) Infantry Officer's
Sword, Segers / Ijzerhouwer.

Etched "J.F.Segers & Zoon te Breda" to one side of
the blade, "Ijzerhouwer" the other, a scarce Dutch made
example (not French or Prussian made), this 1852M pre-dates 1880
due to having two suspension rings to the scabbard.

The 30 1/2 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt.
Brass / gilt hilt in very good condition for age. The grip with
impressively chunky twisted grip wire bindings in very good order.
The light brass colour metal scabbard in good condition save for
a ding. The sword sheathes and draws well if a little loosely.
A great example at a great price, just £? (too late, now
sold) . Please quote item reference U79 (0918). Further / full sized
images available upon request.
