An 1879 pattern with the scarce button clamp (later dirks have a spring catch along the side of the scabbard to fit an opening in the quillon of the cross guard).

The 17 7/8 inch blade is in aged but good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt equally in good order, the grip especially above average. The scabbard leather is aged but sound, the fittings in good order. The dirk sheathes and draws well, the locking pin mechanism works well.

For sure, an above average example of this scarce RN dirk. A great opportunity for only £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference U67 (0901). Further / full sized images available upon request.
