Victorian (VR) British Infantry Officer's
Dumbbell Bladed Sword, Sold |
In aged condition, a Victorian (VR) British Infantry Officer's
Dumbbell Bladed Sword.

"Dumbbell" in that if you cut the blade in two, the cross
section has a dumbbell looking form. This sword is etched to a sword
maker (not just a sword cutler) Alfred Grey Parker of Icknield Street
Birmingham.

The 32 1/4 inch blade is in good condition, a little tarnished,
firm in the hilt. The hilt has overall light corrosion plus rust
spots. The fishskin grip has a small section missing one side; most
of the grip wire is gone. Leather field service scabbard in good
order; the sword sheathes and draws well.
Nice sword, rare maker, yours for £? (too late now sold).
