"Dumbbell" in that if you cut the blade in two, the cross section has a dumbbell looking form. This sword is etched to a sword maker (not just a sword cutler) Alfred Grey Parker of Icknield Street Birmingham.

The 32 1/4 inch blade is in good condition, a little tarnished, firm in the hilt. The hilt has overall light corrosion plus rust spots. The fishskin grip has a small section missing one side; most of the grip wire is gone. Leather field service scabbard in good order; the sword sheathes and draws well.
