In good condition, a scarce George V (earlier blade) British Infantry
/ Rifle Sergeant's Sword.
 

This sergeant's version of the British infantry officer's sword
has the date 8 (August) 01 (1901) to the blade, so originally it
had an Edward VII hilt which was then replaced with a George V hilt
when he came to the thrown. Sergeant's swords are much rarer then
officer's.

The 32 1/4 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the
hilt. The steel guard d/ hilt with some age / rust spotting / streaking.
The grip is in good condition, as are the twisted grip wire bindings.
The black leather scabbard (indicating a rifle sergeant) is aged
but sound. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A scarce sergeant's sword for just £? (too late, now sold)is
