Most likely Persian but possibly used in the Caucuses, perhaps by a cossack. These short sword daggers were used extensively across the entire region.

The 18 inch blade with Islamic type etching is in good condition, some rust patched, firm in the hilt. Hilt generally aged and worn but koftgari type etching still clear. Scabbard aged, the leather especially, the fittings commensurate with the hilt. The Qama sheathes and draws a little tightly, no doubt down to leather shrinkage.
