Meiji era = 1868 to 1912. The blade of this sword is possibly / probably earlier. The furniture (fittings), likely later.
The 23 1/4 inch nagasa (cutting edge section excluding habaki) blade is better one side than the other. It has a ccouple of nicks to the cutting edge, and some ware showing through. Furniture is mostly good and firm. Saya / scabbard in good order; the sword sheathes and draws well.
