Dated A Day in March 1363. Hiromitsu’s nihonto smith entry can be found here. A well known smith; just Google his name. The fittings are typical Boxer Rebellion era (circa 1900).
The 19 3/4 inch nagasa (cutting edge section) high quality blade is in good condition but for several cleaned inert very light rust patches. Furniture aged but firm / sound; the saya (scabbard) has been modern painted black. The sword sheathes and draws well.
The tsuba is likely worth at least two hundred pounds (GBP) on its own, so the entire wakizashi price of was £? (too late, now sold) is an absolute bargain. Please quote item reference AH68. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1846 81x18x16 (1.226).
