With matching serial numbers (70430 – so a mid war gunto with plenty of time for serious combat use) to the blade and scabbard throat. Plain steel tsuba variant (100% original). Multiple nicks to cutting edge.
The 26 1/2 inch blade (excludes copper habaki blade collar) in aged, field sharpened condition (with nicks) is in good condition and firm in the tsuka / hilt. The sword overall aged but good. The steel scabbard good but with some dents / dings. The sword sheathes and draws well and the locking mechanism is also good.
