In good condition, a guaranteed authentic Waterloo An XIII French Heavy Cavalry Trooper’s Sword

They don’t come much better. Dated along the spine to June 1811 with correct inspection marks (poinçons) for Pache, Bisch and Lobstein. Bisch and Lobstein poinçons to the hilt, showing the hilt is original to the blade, not a replacement. Matching rack / serial (weapon) numbers “1035” to the hilt and scabbard, showing the scabbard is original to the sword. Single rack number not crossed out, so the sword likely stayed with the same, very experienced Cuirassier trooper until the time it was captured by the British. The original hatchet point has been spear pointed by the French regiment (done just before Waterloo to increase the piercing ability of the point). No post 1815 poinçons, no replacement 1816M hilt / guard, no later (more grip wire turns) grip as there would have been if the sword stayed in French service after Waterloo. This An XIII Napoleonic / Imperial French heavy cavalry trooper’s sword 100% is a Waterloo / 100 Days War battle / war trophy. And the original leather grip and twisted grip wire are intact and in good condition.
The 37 3/4 inch blade is in good condition with a steady brown patina; some pitting around the forte, firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard in very good condition; some tarnish (can be removed / cleaned off) but commensurate with the aging of the blade. original grip and grip wire in good condition. The period chemically browned heavy steel scabbard in very good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
These swords are getting rarer to the market (collectors simply don’t let go of them) and increasingly high in price. You will curse your luck if someone else beats you to this one. was £?
