The silver acid test shows red for very high content (see below). The sheath with two Russian hallmarks and what looks like the remains of the maker’s mark. This kinjal has some imperial blue aspects to its niello decoration. In addition to clear age and some apparent use to the blade, the hilt has lost one of its cones.

The 13 inch blade with typical central fuller has age, patina / inert rust patches and roughness through probable / possible use to some sections of the cutting edges. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt good (except for missing cone) though with age. The scabbard with age also, some dents, tarnish, etc. The dagger sheathes and draws well.
This is a fine Imperial Russian kinjal that has been through the wars a bit but is still spectacular, and at a spectacularly good price of was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number AG43. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1442-80x18x16 (1.118).
