Silver acid test (see below) returns blood read for pure silver on the back of the sheath / scabbard. Silver Filigree & Niello Mounts. Profusely decorated with elaborate filigree work and Niello enamel, including some Imperial Russian blue.
The 13 7/8 inch steel blade with raised central line / ridge is in good condition, some (now stable) rust patches (but not too many / much), and is firm in the hilt. The spectacular hilt with some age is very good. The scabbard / sheath with more age, some small dents, some tarnish / stains, is good. The dagger sheathes and draws well.
