Quite possibly a reproduction but, if so, one of incredible attention to detail, Georgian era accuracy and quality. A 1788 pattern or similar hilt / guard with a 1796 pattern flared point blade. Superbly etched with George III's royal cypher, post 1801 British Royal Coat of Arms, Britannia, a mounted hussar and flourishes, etc. Around 80% blue and gilt etch remaining.

The 32 inch blade is in very good condition but has some age / inert rust / patina towards the point. Blade firm in the hilt. The stirrup hilt in good condition. The leather grip and twisted grip wire are good but aged (the guard and grip look period / antique).

A stunning blue and gilt etched sword for a very low price. A lot of quality blue and gilt etching just £600. Please quote item reference number AF56. Further / full sized pictures available upon request. Tube 1137-106x16 (2.239).
