The 32 inch period sharpened blade is in exceptionally good condition for its age but with some clouding (which might come out with a good metal finishing cream), firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard is good, highly polished, polished former rust pitting (vast majority inside the hilt, plus backpiece and pommel). The grip and associated grip wire worn but in good condition. The steel scabbard is aged with polished out / inert rust pitting and some slight dings, but is good / sound. The sword sheaves and draws a little loosely but quite firmly when fully sheaved. The remains of the original sword know are just that, remains.

Nice to get such an early Wilkinson and to an important regiment where the blade is in such superb condition. Well worth £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number AF52 (1127). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
