Shin Shinto Japanese Wakizashi with Kozuka Knife, Sold

In good condition, a Shin Shinto Japanese Wakizashi with Kozuka Knife.

Actually a very nice piece with very good "furniture" (fittings), though the original kashira (pommel cap) is missing (easy to find replacements).

The 16 1/2 inch nagasa (cutting edge section) blade is generally in good condition though the forward cutting edge has a nick, plus there is some inert rust / patina / old grease which seems to remove fairly easily. Blade firm in the tsuka (hilt). The fittings are very good and high quality, as is the iron tsuba. Sword sheathes and draws well.

We suspect the blade could be polished to reveal a gem. In any event, a great buy at £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number AF22 (1076). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
