WW2 Gendaito Civilian (for war use) Japanese Wakizashi, sold

In aged as is condition, a WW2 Gendaito Civilian (for war use) Japanese Wakizashi.

Gendaito or earlier traditionally forged unsigned family blade.

The 19 1/2 inch blade has a very clear hamon and some rust patches. The tsuka / handle is aged but sound. The leather covered field service saya / scabbard is aged (we used leather balsam on it as it was bone dry, so it is now a little tacky to the touch) with some patches missing.

A traditionally forged blade in WW2 (civilian for war) mounts / furniture. Nice price: £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number AF04 (1054). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
