                | Toledo 1820 Spanish Cuirassier Heavy Cavalry
Trooper's Sword, Sold | In good condition, a rare Toledo 1820 dated Spanish Cuirassier
Heavy Cavalry Trooper's Sword. Sable De Caballería de Coraceros.
              Possibly model / modelo 1815.

Inscribed "Rl fábrica de armas de Toledo Ano de 182.o"
to the twin fullered blade, the hilt and grip of M1832 form, this
is either an earlier version of that sword, or an earlier blade
rehilted. We have been unable to find another like it in reference
books or online except for some text that an 1815 model existed
              with twin fullers.
The blade, clearly inspired by the French An XIII blade but a little
cruder, is in very good condition except the very tip is gone, indicating
a strike on target. Blade has a little movement in the hilt / grip.
The solid brass hilt / guard aged but good. The leather grip worn
and a little dry, but good. The twisted grip wire bindings are all
all there if hidden under grime, indicating this sword was held
a lot by burly sweaty palms. The heavy steel scabbard is mostly
good if aged but with a small king and rust hole towards the drag.
The sword sheathes and draws well if a little loosely.
