Very well etched along the entire length of the blade but with no maker’s / retailer’s name to the ricasso, so likely mid-WW1 when time was short for such niceties.
The 17 3/4 inch grey etched blade is very good but for some light wear and a few inert rust / patina spots. The blade is also firm in the hilt. The brass hilt good, no gilt remaining. The white fishskin grip a little grubby but good / sound. The twisted grip wire bindings are good. Original sword knot is grubby but sound. The leather scabbard and brass fittings scabbard is sound but with leather cracking / fatigue. The dirk sheathes and draws well, the locking catch mechanism works well.
A great dirk with the full blade length etching. A steal at just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference AE73. Further / full sized images available upon request. Tube ?
