The inscription on the spine is too worn to determine the year, etc. but the scabbard has inspection marks dating it from 1874 to 1891.
The 32 1/4 inch blade is in good though very slightly pitted condition towards the point, and firm in the hilt. The brass hilt generally good but with clear signs of wear and the outer bar has a crack to it. The leather grip is generally good, but with some wear. The twisted grip wire is complete but loose and fraying in places. The steel scabbard is good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
