19th / 20th Century Quality Hadramaut Gusbi
Jambiya Dagger, Sold |
In very good condition, a scarce 19th / 20th Century quality Hadramaut
Gusbi Jambiya Dagger.

Perhaps the rarest form of the Arab Jambiya is the Gusbi from Hadramaut,
an arid coastal area in the South of Yemen aside the Arabian Sea.
Whereas the blade and handle are similar to those on other Arabian
Jambiya, the Gusbi is characterized by a considerably up-curved
scabbard pommel.
11 7/8 Inches overall, the 7 15/16 inch blade is in very good order
and firm in the hilt. The rhino horn hilt with silver work detail
is equally in good condition. The magnificent leather base scabbard
with inset red stones / glass is also in very good shape. The jambiya
sheathes and draws well.
A truly scarce item and well worth the investment price of £?
(too late, now sold). Please quote item reference T54 (0754). Full
sized / further images available upon request.
