Fighting grade blade, fleur de lis type stamp to blade (indicating Solingen blade import, these marks were popular with English sword cutlers from the beginning of to mid way during the 18th Century, shell guard denoting sea (not army) use.

The 20 1/2 inch blade is in good condition but with some pitting towards the point and a couple of period nicks to the forward cutting edge. Blade firm in hilt. The hilt good and no sign that it once has an inner section (some naval swords did and invariably got broken off). Stag horn grip aged / grubby but good.
