WW2 1899M Japanese Army NCO's Sword / Sabre, sold

In good condition, a WW2 1899M Japanese Army NCO's Sword / Sabre.

An authentic (watch out for Chinese police sword replicas which have green synthetic grips) World War 2 Japanese Non Commissioned Officers Sabre (NCO's carried this and the more familiar Type 95 Shin Gunto). Serial number 20793 to blade, 58503 to scabbard / saya and arsenal marks to guard / hilt.

The 30 1/4 inch blade with some age / patina / staining / scuffing but overall very good and firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard in good shape. The hardwood grip mostly very good but has a shrinkage crack. The saya / scabbard good but with a ding. The sabre sheathes and draws well. The locking mechanism works well.

Nice almost certainly battle hardened example and well worth our price of £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference S83 (0704). Further / full sized images available upon request.
