Circa 1790 British Yeomanry Cavalry Officer's
Sword / Sabre, Sold |
In sound though aged condition, a scarce circa 1790 British Yeomanry
Cavalry Officer's Sword / Sabre.

With typical highly cuved blade, D guard and pillow pommel, this
pre-regulation sword was once carried by one of Britains reserve
/ reigonal / yeomanry cavalry regiment officers.

The 31 1/4 inch blade is in overall sound / aged but good condition
except for the tip which is rust pitted and frail, though all still
there. Blade with steady patina and firm in the hilt. The hilt in
good condition. The spiral hardwood grip is good but perhpas has
one small chip (hard to tell, it may be part of the design).
A really nice example and only £? (too late, now sold). Please
quote item reference S59 (0668). Further / full sized images available
upon request.
