British 1879 Pattern Artillery Carbine Sawback Bayonet, Sold

A British 1879 Pattern Artillery Carbine Sawback Bayonet in good condition.

Originally dated October 1886, this British 1879 Pattern Sawback Bayonet for the Martini Henry Artillery Carbine has a number of test / acceptance marks to show it had a long service history.

The 25 11/16 inch blade is in good order and firm in the hilt. The hilt and grip with wear, some light rust here and there, especially to the pommel. The leather and steel scabbard good but aged and with some light rust. The bayonet sheathes and draws well if a little firmly.
