Mid Victorian British Constabulary Officer's Sword & Scabbard, Sold

In fair to good condition, a Mid Victorian / 19C British Constabulary / Police Officer's Sword & Scabbard.

One of the few with the scabbard retention pin system complete and working.

The 23 1/2 inch blade is mostly good but some rust pitting around the point, firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard generally aged but good. Fishskin grip in good order. The scabbard is aged, the leather shrunk, the stitching coming apart, split in two, the lower fitting loose BUT complete. The sword sheathes and draws OK. The locking pin mechanism good.
