Edwardian British Royal Artillery Officer's
Sword, Officer's Initials, Sold |
In good overall condition, an Edwardian British Royal Artillery
officer's sword with officer's initials.

The blade has been replated, probably period as quite well done
(e.g. the brass proof slug has not been plated). Bearing the owner's
/ officer's initials in highly stylized form (looks like "B
V").

The 34 inch blade is in good condition but with a rust patch to
the lightening bolts motif of the Royal Artillery, firm in the hilt.
The hilt generally very good. The fishskin grip has some losses;
the twisted grip wire is good. The steel scabbard is good but has
lost its lining slats, so the sword is loose when sheathed.
A good example at a great price; £? (too late, now sold).
