The 31 1/4 inch blade is in very good condition with very little black patina, and is firm in the hilt. The hilt with some gilt remaining is in good condition and the folding guard section works well. The white fishskin grip is good if a little grubby; the twisted grip wire bindings are in good order. The leather and gilt metal fittings scabbard is actually very good for something so old; some cracking and shrinkage but not much. The sword sheathes and draws very well.

A scarce example in very good condition. Very nice; £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Q44 (0359). Further full / sized images available on request.
