Rare Chinese Forces Boxer Rebellion 1889M Cavalry Trooper's Sword

Sales enquiries

A very rare sword used by the Chinese Forces against the Eight National Alliance (British, Japanese, Russians, French, US, Austro-Hungarian, Italian and ironically German forces); these swords were made in Prussia for the Qing Dynasty Chinese Forces before the Boxer Rebellion started. As such, you might begin to realize how rare these swords are. This one is stamped to maker "Weyersberg, Kirschbaum Bc Cle Solingen". You can find a rare museum held example of this sword here.

The 31 1/8 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt is aged and a little buckled, but overall good. The grip has quite a bit of wear but is still in good order. The steel scabbard has age also but is generally good. The sword sheathes and draws well.

We don't find many of these to say the least, so grab it quick; yours for £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference P05 (0197). Further / full sized images available upon request.
