WW2 Japanese Army Officer's Shin Gunto Katana, Signed, Seki Stamped

The mei is stylistically signed, it appears to be a smith calling himself "Kazuhide", possibly "Ogwatsu Kasuhide". It bears to Seki stamp however, so the smith is of little consequence.

The 25 9/16 inch blade is in generally very good condition, though has been rigorously polished; some gendaito attributes are present though. The tsuka (grip) and saya (scabbard) are all aged but good; the locking pin has lost its end though. Sword sheathes and draws well.

A very nice, well above average gunto. Please quote item reference number M96 (1299). Further / full sized images upon request.
