WW1 era Imperial German Artillery Officer's
Lionhead Sword, Sold |
In good to very good overall condition, a WW1 era German artillery
officer's lion head sword, complete with portapee.

Almost certainly a WW1 war trophy bring back with the original
leather portapee attached. This is an NCO (non-commissioned officer's)
sword with plain blade. Paint to scabbard looks original.
The 31 inch plain blade (no visible maker's marks) is in very good
condition and firm in the hilt, the hilt / guard also good. The
grip in good condition though the wires are a little astray in places,
as is common (normally can be easily put right / fixed with a little
care). The blackened steel scabbard is in good shape. The sword
sheathes and draws well.
A very nice example for only £(too late, Sold! But we will
tell you the original sales price for a fee). Please quote item
reference M01 (1232). Further / full sized images available upon
request.
