GVI / WW2 Era British 1912P Cavalry Officer's
Wilkinson Sword, sold |
In overall good to very good condition, a 1912 pattern British
cavalry officer's sword, serial number 66886 for 1938, officer's
initials "T. B." to the blade.

The Wilkinson sales ledger indicates this sword was for a T Barraclough
(the ledger reads D N Jackon, Anson Memorial, Barraclough). We have
been unable to research this any further.

The 35 1/2 inch blade is in overall good condition with only a
little rust / patina and firm in the hilt. The hilt is also in good
good condition, some light rust to the inner bowl guard, a few specs
to the front. The grip in equally good condition. The leather fields
service scabbard has wear and age, the chape / drag end especially.
The sword sheathes and draws well. The original sword knot in quite
good condition is a very welcome bonus.
A very nice example with original owner research possible; yours
for £500 . Please quote item reference L54. Further / full
sized images available upon request. Box 1193-1.18 (2.453)
