Etched at the ricasso to Samuel Brothers, 65 & 67 Ludgate St, London, E.C. - Samuel Bros were a very high end and profile tailors, outfitters and sword cutlers.

The well made 32 1/4 inch blade is in overall good condition, some rubbing and patina (rust spots), but not too much, nicely etched and firm in the hilt. The steel hilt has some patina to the edges mostly, but is overall good, some rust to inner bowl. Grip also good; a couple of minor twisted grip wire strands slightly askew. Leather and steel fitting scabbard in good order, a little aged, the suspension loop cracked as is normal. The sword knot is complete and good, though aged and with one minor glue repair. The sword sheathes and draws very well.

A very nice and above average example, for only £? (too late, now sold - original sales price divulged for small fee). Please quote item reference number L20 (1223). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
