Sales enquiries

A really lovely condition WW1 British infantry officer's sword with rarer "snakeskin" (patterned leather) grip, preferred by some officers. The stamped "proved" mark indicates this sword was made around 1917.

The 31 1/2 inch well etched blade has some virtually no wear / patina and is firm in the hilt. The plated steel hilt is almost as new; a little polishing will probably make it as new. The lovely leather "snakeskin" grip and slanted twisted grip wire bindings are very individual, very good. The leather field service scabbard is a little aged but still good. The sword sheathes and draws well.

A stonking, well above average example; we must be mad selling it for only £xxx. Please quote item reference number J86 (1134). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
