18C Indian Farang-Katti (Grooved Bladed Farangi) Sword, Sold

In good condition, rare multi-grooved blade version (Farang-Katti) of an 18th Century Indian Farangi sword.

A Farangi, but with grooves to the blade, so a Farang-Katti. Actually in good to very good condition, given its age; the blade point being a little weak / rusted / damaged, the grip a little course, but otherwise a good sound sword.

The impressive 39 3/4 blade has a lovely dark patina to it and is form in the hilt. The hilt generally good, though the grip a little course, perhaps by design for added grip.

You don't find many of these on the market, so £? (too late, now sold) is a very good price indeed. Please quote item reference J63 (1144). Further / full sized images available upon request.
