Victorian British Hampshire Submarine Miners
Officer's Sword, sold |
In very good condition, a rare Victorian British Royal Engineer
Hampshire Submarine Miner officer's sword.
Submarine Miners were a branch of the British Royal Engineers and
their sword are scarce to say the least, especially in this condition.
The 32 inch levee weight blade is well etched and in good condition,
and firm in the hilt. The hilt is also very good, a little spot
one edge but otherwise incredible for something well over a 100
years old. Equally the grip and associated twisted grip wire bindings
are good. The plated steel scabbard in very good condition, The
sword sheathes and draws very well. We doubt that you will find
a better example anywhere.
A bargain. Please quote item reference J56 (1139). Further / full
sized images available upon request.
