1821 Patt Georgian British Light Cavalry
Officer's Sabre / Sword, sold
In good condition, a well made King William IV / Georgian light
cavalry officer's sword.
An elegant and robust light cavalry sword with the earlier Georgian
wide flared 3 bar guard (later / Victorian examples have tighter
3 bar guards which afforded better protection but do not look as
good) and pipeback, quill pointed blade.
The 34 5/8 inch blade is in good order, the tablet form William
IV royal cypher etching faded / worn but still there, a little light
rust pitting towards the point, but not much. Blade firm in the
hilt. The hilt in very good order. The fishskin grip and twisted
grip wire good; well above average. Complete with steel scabbard
in good order; sword sheathes and draws well.
A very nice sword for only £xxx. Please quote item reference
