18th / 19th Century Prussian bladed Polish
Hussar Sabre, sold |
In good condition, a late 18th Century Polish Partitioned Hussar's
sabre, the blade likely either Solingen (Prussian) or possibly Potsdam
(Brandenburg) made.

No markings make this difficult to identify but the fat grip is
typical of a hussars sword carried by Prussian controlled Polish
Hussars in the late 18th Century. The Montmenrcy type blade is typically
Germanic.
The 33 5/8 inch blade is in good condition but with no visible
markings, and firm in the hilt. The hilt in good shape, as is the
somewhat crude looking Polish / Hungarian style grip, which is actually
in good order.
A very rare sword; yours for £(too late, sorry - original
sales price available for small fee). Please quote item reference
