Mid 20C Toledo Made Portuguese Cavalry / Mounted Artillery Trooper's Swordimage I78 1

Sold Item Notice

With the Toledo royal maker's mark to the forte / ricasso, this very well made and sturdy sword gives away the fact it was made for the Portuguese army by the "A E" (Arsenal do Exercito) stamp to the suspension mount on the scabbard.

The 33 5/8 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The browned three bard hilt has some aging but is generally in very good condition, a hard to see fracture to the top near the pommel (probably why the sword was apparently decomissioned, sold to the public). The faux fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings are also well above average. The browned steel scabbard with a single suspension ring is in very good shape. The sword sheathes and draws very well.

Actually a very nice sword, well made and in very good condition. Please quote item reference I78 (1078). Further / full sized images upon request.
