Circa 1870 Solingen made Swedish / Norwegian
Cavalry Sabre, sold
In very good condition, an Alex Coppell of Solingen made Swedish
/ Norwegian cavalry sabre.
With Alex Coppell's famous trademark to the forte / ricasso and
crown over c Norwegian / Swedish acceptance mark, this sword was
made circa 1870 to 1872.
The 35 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt.
The brass hilt with some marks but otherwise very good. The leather
grip in very good condition and the twisted grip wire is all present
and correct. The steel scabbard in equally very good and the sabre
sheathes and draws very well.
A well above average example of an exceptionally well made cavalry
