1796P Napoleonic British Light Cavalry Trooper's Sabre / Sword & Scabbard

Sales enquiries

This is an unmarked sabre which indicates it was bought by a yeomanry regiment during the Napoleonic wars. It is a 100% authentic Napoleonic sword, we guarantee that, though it does not take an expert to determine this, you simply have to look at the aging of the grip and scabbard to know.

The 32 5/8 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt is aged through light rusting. The grip is aged also, though well above average and the original leather is still present, although thin and aged but sound enough to be preserved as is. The original scabbard is well aged with a few small rust holes towards the chape / drag but, ain, sound and can preserved as is. The sabre sheathes and draws quite well and, in fact, you can see the original internal wooden liners through the small rust holes. This is a well above average example of an authentic Napoleonic era 1796P light cavalry trooper's sabre and therefore worth every penny. Please quote item reference number I31 (1042). Further / full sized images upon request.
