1905 Pattern British Infantry Sergeant's
Solid Hilt Sword, sold
In good condition, a scarce 1905 pattern British infantry sergeant's
sword, with solid hilt.
Following the failure of British swords in the Boer War, the 1905
Pattern for sergeants was a strengthened version of the 1897P but
with a solid hilt (the tang was large and riveted into / forms part
of the grip) plus slightly curved blade.
This Edward VII 1905P has a 32 5/8 slightly curv3ed blade in good
condition with various army stamps, is firm in the hilt (of course).
The hilt is good, the solid tang grip is good. It is a good example!
