Sales enquiries

Marked on the blade to "1st Cambridge Rifles" and to the ricasso "Milligan and Johnson" of Cambridge and London (ceased trading in 1871), this is a rare find.

The 32 3/8 inch blade blade is in good condition, albeit a little worn and with patina throughout, the etching still clear. The blade is firm in the hilt, the steel hilt with some pitting but overall good. The fishskin grip has lost some of its colour (dark grey) but is good and sound, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The steel scabbard is a little dinged in places but generally good. The sword sheaths and draws well enough, the scabbard able to to hold the sword in place while inverted. A great sword. Please quote item reference number G39 (957). Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
