1896P WW1 British / Indian Mountain Artillery Wilkinson Sword, Sold

In very good condition, a Wilkinson made British / Indian Mountain Artillery sword, dated 1917.

Probably made for an Indian artilleryman of one of the WW1 Indian Expeditionary Forces to take with him to war in the Sinai, Palestine, Suez, and / or Gallipoli Campaigns. Remainder (last part "inson") of Wilkinson mark to the spine plus 1917 dates on both the forte / ricasso and leather section of the scabbard.

In very good order indeed, the 29 3/4 inch blade is almost as new, firm in the hilt. The hilt with some age / wear. The scabbard good. The sword sheathes and draws well. A well above average example. Please quote item reference number F17 (882). Further / full sized images available upon request.
