Etched at the ricasso to William Anderson & Sons Ltd of 14 George Street Edinburgh (1910-1956), the blade with the emblem and name of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers and the royal cypher of King George VI (reigned from 11th December 1936 to 14th August 1947).

The 33 inch blade blade is in very good condition, some light surface rust which would probably clean off quite well, and is firm in the hilt. The hilt in good condition, the fishskin grip having lost some of its blackening, easily replaced if desired with some black shoe polish. The field leather scabbard is in good condition, some scuffs, the frog suspension loop aged and cracking as you should expect. But, overall, a well above average example of this sought after sword.

A true investment. Full sized / additional photos available upon request. Please quote item reference number E79 (837).
