The 32 1/4 inch blade is in excellent condition for its age, a little bit of scuffing here and there but nothing much, and etched with the Royal Engineers emblems and motto. Blade is firm in the hilt. The front of the plated steel guard is good, minimal aging compared with most of this era. The fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings are also very good. The leather knot is complete, a little aged and weak near the acorn. The leather scabbard is good, the frog suspension loop with very little cracking and is firm. The sword sheathes and draws very well. A quality sword in very good condition for only £400. Further / full sized images available upon request. Please quote item reference number E35 (792).
