In well above average condition, a quality Mole & Sons WW1
British Royal Engineers officer's sword.
In very good condition, a King George V, World War One, Royal Engineers
officer's sword, marked to "Rob. T. Mole & Sons Birmingham
Makers To The War & India Offices".
The 32 1/4 inch blade is in excellent condition for its age, a
little bit of scuffing here and there but nothing much, and etched
with the Royal Engineers emblems and motto. Blade is firm in the
hilt. The front of the plated steel guard is good, minimal aging
compared with most of this era. The fishskin grip and twisted grip
wire bindings are also very good. The leather knot is complete,
a little aged and weak near the acorn. The leather scabbard is good,
the frog suspension loop with very little cracking and is firm.
The sword sheathes and draws very well. A quality sword in very
good condition for only £400. Further / full sized images
